Undone

Undone

She paused to rest, her burdens full

Her mind it tired, the push, the pull.

She tried to breathe, to catch some air

But found her breath, it was not there.

The journey made thus far was fine

The plans, the goals, the gift of time.

But where, she wondered, had she gone?

The she once known, the she undone.

Now moving forward, she takes small strides

Because her path has changed inside.

Conflicted dreams and passions died

How, she wonders, do you restart life?

She ponders options and moves along

As her child starts to sing his song.

What will be will soon become

Tomorrow’s journey, toward which she’ll run.
